In relation to the disturbance of security of Muslim Jema’at Ahmadiya and hindrance in performing religious obligations __ by an intolerant and radical group __ at An-Nur mosque Bukit Duri, on Friday 12th and Sunday 14th, June 2015. Herewith this, we issue the statement as following:
- We believe that PEMDA DKI, under the brave leadership of Bapak Ahok, is capable enough to uphold the constitution, Pancasila and Fundamental legislations of 1945(UUD 1945) __ which include the basic right to worship, of every citizen according to one’s belief, as part of the freedom of religion.
- An-Nur mosque is under Muslim Jema’at Ahmadiyah since 1980. And for more than 30 years, have never been any problem with the residents, here.
- An-Nur mosque under Muslim Jema’at Ahmadiyah is open to general public, just like other mosques.
- We have, always, left an open door for dialogue with all concerned parties to create an atmosphere of civilized society, harmony and mutual respect.
- We, also, hope PEMDA, through Bapak Walikota Jakarta Selatan, will facilitate a dialogue between Bapak Syakir and us. Who, until now, have been barring us from performing prayers and religious obligations at Bukit Duir mosque.
- We are sure that the professional approach of Indonesian police will make sure the security of all citizens on the bases of justice. And be stern towards every kind of violence, spreading hate-speech and public-order disturbance __ until we can perform all kinds of religious duties tuoght by Holy Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) __ at An-Nur mosque Bukit Duri, Tebet, Jakarta Selatan.
